1000 GOVERNORS REACHED
CJCS FOUNDATION SURPASSES 1000 GOVERNORS!!
Under the leadership of Stan Abbey, Mark Bercovitz, Joyce Tanner and a whole team of dedicated volunteers, we recently reached this tremendous milestone and raised
over $300,000! Both the men (Governors) & women (Goldas) rose to the occasion in support of the Centre's services and programs.
The CJCS Governors program began 4 years ago and raised $50,000 in it's first year with 100 Governors. “We have come a long way since then” said Stan Abbey, and “we are proud of the team effort it took to get us here. I believe we have the largest Governors Program in the Jewish Community.” The Governors Board in our Hall of Honour lists all of our Governors, and needs to keep expanding as we continue to grow.. The money raised from this program is even more crucial, especially in light of recent funding cutbacks. What will be our next goal.? “We're not sure”, said Norm Latsky, Foundation President, “but I can promise you that there is no stopping us now!”

VOLUNTEERS IN ACTION
National Volunteer Week April 28 - May 2, 2008
HELPING... UNITING….BUILDING
Each year, during National Volunteer Week, we have the opportunity to express our appreciation to our volunteers for their devotion and caring.
We are grateful for our volunteers who share their joy, expertise and energy for the benefit of our members and clients.
Each and every day at CJCS, volunteers can be seen greeting you at the door, delivering meals-on-wheels, encouraging people in their work-out routines, creating spectacular art pieces, serving customers in the Boutique or the Cummings Café, animating group discussions, supporting and enabling others, planning innovative programs, courses and festivals, and just simply stated - making a difference in the lives of seniors at our Centre and for those being served in the community!
