Fels Family Adapted Art Program

Naming Opportunities

FELS FAMILY DONATION MAKES A BIG IMPACT ON CUMMINGS ADAPTED ART PROGRAM

The Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Foundation is pleased to announce the naming of the Fels Family Adapted Art Program. Arlene Fels, a longstanding member, supporter and participant in Cummings Centre art and exercise classes, is proud to sponsor the Program. This generous donation enables the Cummings Centre to provide Adapted Program participants access to Fine Arts programs such as painting, sculpture and other forms of creative expression.

“We are delighted to be the recipient of such a generous gift from Arlene Fels on behalf of herself and the Fels family,” said Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Foundation President Mark Bercuvitz. “The Cummings Centre is a special place for so many and by making this contribution, Arlene is able to help the Cummings Centre and its participants in a meaningful way.”

The ongoing donation will initially go toward Adapted Art Programs, however in future years it can be used for any new art programs at the Cummings Centre that would be of benefit to seniors. Additionally, funds can also be used for capital improvements in the Art Room.

Adapted art classes at the Cummings Centre provide an opportunity for individuals experiencing certain challenges from a stroke, progressive neuromuscular disorder (Parkinson’s, MS) or other health challenges  to discover and explore various art media and encourages creative expression as part of the recovery process.

The Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Foundation aims to meet the philanthropic challenges and needs of the 50 plus population. The Cummings Centre is a leader in the provision of quality programs, professional social services and a wide range of volunteer opportunities to the 50+ community.
