Charitable Gift Annuities

Endowment Funds
Endowment Funds are generally selected by families or individuals who wish to support The Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors while maintaining a philanthropic vehicle for honoring friends and family on special occasions, or for remembering the dearly departed. In lieu of receiving gifts on birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions, many generous donors ask their friends to make donations to their endowment funds at CJCS. This is also a way to link your family name with the Centre in perpetuity.
Money given through an endowment fund is invested for a ten (10) year period and the interest earned lends support to projects at the Centre. At the end of the ten (10) year period, the capital is given to the Foundation for its discretionary use in areas of the Centre where it is most needed.
A CJCS Endowment Fund may be established with an initial donation of only $1,000.
Bequests
"I did not find the world desolate when I entered it...as others planted for me before I was born, so do I plant for those who come after me." - The Talmud
This is the simplest form of planned giving. Redraft or add a Codicil to your Will leaving a gift to the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors, a place that you care about. This could be a specific asset or percentage of your estate.
The Benefits of making a Bequest:
- Enables donors to create a lasting legacy and minimize taxes payable by your heirs.
- It allows individuals to make much larger gifts than they could during their lifetime.
- You stay in control.
