Governors
Our Governors are the heart of the Foundation. Hundreds of individuals and couples contribute annually to support our many vital services and programs. Through this program we can ensure that more seniors are able to receive homecare services such as bathing, assisted shopping, hot kosher Meals on Wheels, and much more.
Names of all of our Governors are inscribed on the Governors Board in our Hall of Honor.

Major Gifts
Major donors are individuals, foundations or corporations who contribute a minimum of $5,000 to the Centre. These gifts may be designated or non-designated. Designated or “thematic” giving allows you to support an area or service/program of the Agency, which interests you personally. Non-designated funds are used, at the Agency’s discretion, in areas where it is most needed.

Holiday Mailing Campaign
Holiday celebrations are a festive time for Jews of all generations to gather with friends and family. It, however, can be a very lonely time for many seniors. We celebrate our traditions and customs and share with others through the mitzvah of tzedakah.
During Chanukah and Passover, we reach out to the Jewish community and ask for their help. The valued support and continued generosity of so many is heartwarming in a community where over 20% of our senior population live below the poverty level.

Tribute and Special Occasion Cards
Honor a friend or loved one’s special occasion by contributing to the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Foundation.
We’ll send your special person a beautiful card along with a message that a donation has been made in their honor. (The card features a picture of a stained glass window beautifully designed by members of CJCS’ Fine Arts Studio.)
Pay your respects to someone who has passed away by sending a condolence or memorial card, as well.

The Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Corporate Sponsorship program is an innovative initiative. Through this partnership, Corporations and CJCS participate in building a stronger community by offering support to thousands of seniors in need.
