| MONTREAL IMPACT JOEY SAPUTO TO BE HONOURED AT SPORTS CELEBRITY BREAKFAST
Montreal Impact Soccer Team President Joey Saputo will be the Guest of Honour at the sixth annual Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors Sports Celebrity Breakfast on Sunday March 28 (9:30 a.m.) at the Gelber Conference Centre (5700 Westbury Avenue) in Snowdon. Proceeds from the event will support Seniors in Crisis , a program that delivers much needed assistance to seniors who are unable to financially look after their needs.
Present and retired athletes from the Impact, the Canadiens, the Alouettes, the Montreal Juniors, as well as representatives from the Canadian Olympic team, the world of boxing and the local media will also be in attendance. Some of the confirmed guests so far include Montreal Canadiens forward Mathieu Darche, former Habs players Guy Carbonneau, Vincent Damphousse, Claude Lemieux, NHL referee Dave Jackson, Montreal Alouettes President Larry Smith and former player Tony Proudfoot and former Montreal Expos pitcher Denis Boucher, now a scout for the New York Yankees.
Among the media attending are Herb Zurkowsky and Dave Stubbs from The Gazette, André Corbeil from CTV, Rick Moffat and Abe Hefter from CJAD, veteran broadcaster Jim Bay, former Alouette Gabrielle Grégoire and former NHL enforcer Dave Morrisette of CKAC Radio and Noel Butler from THE TEAM 990.
The committee planning the event is chaired by Michael Wagen, Senior Vice President of Delmar Group. Honourary Chair is Morden “Cookie” Lazarus. Suburban Newspaper columnist Mike Cohen and Charles-André Marchand from CKAC Sports Radio will serve as masters of ceremonies.
