This one year Internship combines theoretical training with practical, on-the-job experience.
The CJCS Intern Program provides you with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a vibrant community setting. Interns benefit from stimulating workshops, professional supervision, learning about community services, working with the 50+ population, and strengthened leadership skills.
Goals
- To become oriented with the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors.
- To acquire knowledge about the senior population and the aging process.
- To examine one’s values and attitudes about aging.
- To expand and enhance existing skills.
- To develop an awareness of available resources in the community.
Requirements
- A commitment of 250 hours in a one year period.
- Interest in working with seniors.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Willingness to assume responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
The program begins in the Fall. Upon successful completion, a certification of participation will be issued.
