This one year Internship combines theoretical training with practical, on-the-job experience.

The CJCS Intern Program provides you with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a vibrant community setting.  Interns benefit from stimulating workshops, professional supervision, learning about community services, working with the 50+ population, and strengthened leadership skills.

Goals

  1. To become oriented with the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors.
  2. To acquire knowledge about the senior population and the aging process.
  3. To examine one’s values and attitudes about aging.
  4. To expand and enhance existing skills.
  5. To develop an awareness of available resources in the community.

Requirements

  1. A commitment of 250 hours in a one year period.
  2. Interest in working with seniors.
  3. Ability to take initiative.
  4. Willingness to assume responsibility.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills.

The program begins in the Fall. Upon successful completion, a certification of participation will be issued.
