Marie-Josée is a clinical physiotherapist who has had her own private practice on the West Island of Montréal for over 30 years treating a variety of pelvic floor disorders.

She is a pioneer in the field of pelvic health physiotherapy in Canada, and lectures nationally and internationally on the topic of pelvic floor rehabilitation. She has been teaching continuing education courses to physiotherapists across Canada in the field of pelvic health and she has been assistant instructor at McGill University for pelvic health physiotherapy education. Marie-Josée is now owner of Kinatex Centre de Santé Pelvienne, a new state of the art clinic specializing and focusing on pelvic health, breastfeeding and pediatrics in Pointe-Claire.

A family physician who subsequently subspecialized in palliative care and cancer-related lymphedema, Dr Towers has had an academic career spanning over 45 years at institutions affiliated with McGill University. She is passionate about the importance of exercise in both preventing and treating chronic illness. As Associate Professor in Family Medicine and Oncology at McGill, she has been involved in research and in teaching nationally and internationally on her two subspecialty interests.
